Turmeric Milk( Golden Milk ) Or Haldi Doodh has been an important part of traditional Indian food for ages. Golden Milk is called because of its sparkling medical properties, especially as an immunity-boosting drink. It is easy to make and will help you stay warm without hindering your New Year resolutions.
There is a reason turmeric is so popular: it has amazing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. So, it is really a good practice to include haldi or turmeric in your diet. In India, many consume this comfort drink at bedtime, not just when they are unwell. Kids are sometimes given a sweetened version to help them sleep better.

Here is my recipe for Turmeric Milk, Or Haldi Doodh, as I call it. In Hindi, Turmeric is Haldi, and Milk is Doodh. Hence, the Hindi name of this elixir is ‘Haldi Doodh’; it is an age-old ayurvedic remedy used to treat colds, coughs, congestion, wounds and other ailments. Turmeric powder is a common spice in many Indian Curries, lentils and vegetable preparations.
Turmeric milk can also be made with fresh turmeric roots, which is the traditional method of making this elixir. This bright yellow drink conquered my heart not because of its health benefits but because it tastes like a warm hug 🤗.
I am used to having the Haldi Doodh without any sweetness in it. But if you want to, go ahead and add the sweetener of your choice. If you haven’t tried Golden Milk yet, make this! I am pretty positive you will love it. And if you have, I hope you get inspired to try my version!

- Be careful; Turmeric will easily stain whatever it touches, so wipe splashes immediately.
