Serving Suggestion: 4
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time 10minutes
2. Ingredients
- 300 gm boneless chicken pieces
- 2 slices of bread soaked in ½ cup milk
- 2 teaspoons of black pepper powder
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala powder(optional)
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 green chilli
- Salt
For Coating
- 2 tablespoons of Plain flour ( maida)
- 2 eggs
- Bread crumbs
For Frying
- Oil for frying
3. Step by step method
- In a chopper, add chicken pieces, soaked bread in milk, garlic powder, green chilli, black pepper powder, oregano powder, garam masala powder, lemon juice and salt.
- Pulse it 2 to 3 times or until it turns into a fine paste. Some might be a bit coarse meat mince, but that’s absolutely fine.
- Take it out in a bowl, and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Take flour, beaten eggs and breadcrumbs in three different plates or bowls.
- Take a small portion (lemon size) of chicken mixture and slightly press it to form a nugget. Do not worry about the shape.
- Coat the nuggets with flour, dip them in beaten eggs and then coat them with breadcrumbs. Repeat the same for all the mixtures. Make 20 nuggets with the mixture.
- Layer them on a tray and set them in a fridge for 1 to 2 hours.
- If you intend to store them for later use, then at this stage, once the nuggets are frozen, gather them all, place them in a ziplock bag and freeze. It can be easily stored for up to 2 months.
Frying
- For deep frying, Heat 2 cups of oil in a kadhai or deep frying pan on medium flame. When oil is hot, fry nuggets on both sides until they turn golden brown. Fry all the nuggets in 3 batches. Do not fry them on very high heat as it will burn the nuggets and remain uncooked.
- For shallow frying, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and fry 5 to 6 nuggets in each batch. Flip each side and Fry until they turn golden brown and crisp. Add more oil if needed while frying. You can also air fry or bake these nuggets.
- Drain them on kitchen paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serve hot chicken nuggets with your favourite garlic Mayo dips or ketchup.
4. Tips
