Coconut Laddoo is a traditional Indian sweet made with coconut and condensed milk flavoured with cardamom powder. In some parts of India, it is called Nariyal Laddoo. Coconut Laddoo is a very easy recipe that anyone can make because it doesn’t need any specific technique or cooking. It is a delightful dessert you can make for celebrations.
Coconut Laddoo can be prepared in different ways; today, I am going to share with you a very easy recipe. In this recipe, you can use fresh/frozen or desiccated coconut. I have used desiccated coconut, but you can also use fresh coconut in the recipe. It can be made with khoya or milk, sugar or jaggery. So you can make these Laddoos with almost anything you have in hand. Dry fruits are optional in this recipe; If you want to add nuts, toast them until they get crunchy. I am not using them in the recipe.

2. Ingredients
- 2 cups desiccated coconut
- 1 cup condensed milk
- ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder
- A few drops of vanilla essence
- 1teaspoon of ghee
- 1 tablespoon desiccated coconut for final coating.
3. Step by step method
- Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee in a thick bottom pan. Add 2 cups of desiccated coconut, and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- Now add condensed milk; cook this mixture on low flame.
- Cook, stirring continuously, until the entire mixture turns into a mass. The mixture should be moist. Do not overcook the coconut.
- Turn off the flame and add cardamom powder and 3 to 4 drops of vanilla essence.
- When the mixture is still warm, grease your palm and take a lemon-sized portion of the mixture. Press down gently to shape them into balls.
- Spread some coconut powder onto a plate. Once all the Laddoos are made, roll them up in the coconut powder to coat.
- Coconut Laddoos are ready to be served.
4. Tips
- You can make these Laddoos in different flavours like rose, saffron or paan.
- If you are using nuts, dry roast them before adding to the mixture.
- Store them in a refrigerator in an air-tight container for a longer period.
